Obverse and Reverse: Thomas D. Rogers, Sr. Mr. Rogers has won serveral design competitions, including the Garden State Numismatic Association's Ten Year Anniversary Medal in 1985 and the American Numismatic Association's One Hundred Year Anniversary Medal's obverse "Centurion" in 1991. Since joining the U.S. Mint in 1991, his designs have appeared on the reverse of the Gold Five Dollar and Silver Dollar Columbus Quincentenary Coins. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 through 1966.
