1972 Eisenhower Dollar Type 2 NGC MS62 – Key Variety Philadelphia Mint Ike Dollar #750-007

The 1972 Eisenhower Dollar Type 2, graded NGC MS62, is the most important and recognizable variety within the Ike Dollar series. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin features the scarce Type 2 reverse, identified by its unique globe design and limited production.

Unlike the more common 1972 issues, the Type 2 reverse displays a rounded Earth with clearly defined geographic details, including a separated Florida peninsula and visible Caribbean islands. This design was quickly replaced, making surviving examples significantly less common.

In MS62 condition, this coin remains fully uncirculated, retaining original mint luster with noticeable contact marks consistent with the grade. Despite these marks, the coin still presents strong detail and clear variety attribution, making it an excellent entry point into this key Ike Dollar variety.

A solid choice for collectors seeking a certified Type 2 example with strong numismatic relevance and affordability within the series.
