The 1972 Eisenhower $1 Type 2, graded ANACS MS63, is one of the most sought-after varieties in the Ike Dollar series. The Type 2 reverse is distinguished by its low-relief, rounded Earth design, clearly showing Florida separated from the mainland and more detailed Caribbean islands — making it the scarcest of the three 1972 reverse types.
Designed by Frank Gasparro, the obverse features President Dwight D. Eisenhower, while the reverse displays the Apollo 11 mission insignia with an eagle landing on the moon. The Type II variety was struck only at the Philadelphia Mint and is significantly harder to locate than the Type 1 and Type 3 varieties.
Graded MS63, this coin retains strong mint luster with moderate contact marks typical for the grade. As one of the key variety issues in the Eisenhower Dollar series, it remains highly desirable among Ike collectors and modern U.S. variety specialists.
A standout addition to any certified Ike Dollar collection.
